Creating Endless Opportunities for our Children, Youth & Families

The Buckeye Ranch Crane Center sign

“We recognize that a safe and nurturing home environment is best for children when they are unable to be with their parents. Community is one of our core values, and we believe we have a role to play in seeking to improve the quality of life for all and to ensure that children have the opportunity to thrive despite circumstances they may face.”
—Mike Crane

The Buckeye Ranch’s Foster Care program will benefit from a generous gift from the Crane family, with a lead gift from Mike and Paige Crane, and Crane Group Co. The Crane family and Crane Group will make a $1,000,000 investment in the future of the program which is a continuation of the Crane family’s long-standing partnership that began in 1965. The deep relationship continued for decades and most recently Mike Crane served as The Buckeye Ranch’s Board Chair in the 1990’s and Foundation Board Chair in the early 2000’s.

The Cranes’ commitment to The Buckeye Ranch will increase the number of foster homes to meet the growing need for comfort, love, support and consistency for children in Ohio. In addition, these children will develop and nurture life-long relationships with family, friends and mentors who will empower them throughout their lives.

The Cranes’ investment also allows The Buckeye Ranch to create opportunities to support systemic reform, such as Governor DeWine’s foster care initiative, through advocacy and public policy.

In recognition of this investment, The Buckeye Ranch is honored to name its new Whitehall location The Michael & Paige Crane Center for Children and Families.
