Adventure Therapy | Columbus - The Rosemont Center



The Buckeye Ranch is one of Ohio’s leading providers of emotional, behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse services.  We work with children and families, many of whom have experienced abuse or neglect, who are facing significant challenges and often multiple stressors.

What an exciting opportunity to facilitate activity-based groups focused on emotional regulation and relational skills in the Adventure Therapy program! 

Participate in and lead team building, hiking, climbing, and other Adventure Therapy activities. 

Supervise clients and implement interventions developed by the team and under the supervision of clinical staff. 

Transport clients to and from program.

Readily adapt to changing, unusual, or unplanned situations and modification of planned activities. 

Provide encouragement and effective feedback while, also, setting behavioral limits, as necessary.  

In addition, take appropriate initiatives to manage any crisis situations; prepare and submit all required documentation in a timely manner; and support the logistical needs of the program. 

Potential work hours:

April & May:  Training and some weekend programming

Summer (June-August:)  Scheduled approximately 16-20 hours per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Required qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Computer proficiency

Related experience

Driver's license, vehicle insurance, and appropriate driving record

Physical and mental ability to participate in and lead Adventure Therapy activities

Walk long distances [up to five (5) miles per day] in all types of weather
