Simon Sweet, MISM, has served as an information technology (IT) leader in the Behavioral Health field for over 15 years, working in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, pediatric hospital, and child welfare settings. Currently, Simon serves as the Vice President of IT for The Buckeye Ranch. His background includes forming and leading IT, HIM and Analytics departments as well as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Clinical Information System (CIS) -based information security programs. Some of Simon’s accomplishments include the selection, implementation, and development of multiple electronic health record (EHR) systems; design, development and implementation of enterprise data analytics/BI solutions and governance model; integration of complex internal and external systems; and strategic alignment and planning of technology solutions to support The Buckeye Ranch mission.
Simon holds a master’s degree in information systems management from Wright State University, and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from DePaul University. Before entering the IT field, Simon worked as a Chicago based pianist/keyboardist who toured and recorded with many national and local Chicago acts. In his spare time, Simon can still be found tickling the ivories with bands around Columbus and Chicago.
