The Buckeye Ranch believes all families have strengths, and each member of the family plays an integral part in treatment. Our Community-Based Mental Health Services are designed to work with children, their families, and members of the community to reduce concerning behaviors while helping children, youth, and families meet their own unique goals and plans.
Intensive Family Support Program (IFSP) services are provided to young people and families for whom more intensive interventions are indicated. Meetings typically occur 1-3 times per week in the family’s home to aid in keeping youth and families safely together. Our staff is trained to provide 24-hour crisis intervention and targeted interventions to assist with self-harmful behaviors, severe depression, aggression, substance abuse, trauma, and defiant behaviors. Our staff is also trained to assist with youth transitioning from hospitalizations, residential care, inpatient substance abuse treatment, and foster care.
Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) is a mental health service designed to meet the needs of youth with serious emotional disturbances who are at risk of out-of-home placement or who are returning home from placement. The goal of IHBT is to provide the necessary mental health services and supports to enable youth to live in their homes in the least restrictive, most normative setting possible. IHBT services are provided in the home, school, and community where youth live and function. These services focus on the mental health issues that put the youth at risk while promoting positive development and healthy family functioning.
IHBT integrates core mental health services (community psychiatric supportive treatment, behavioral health counseling and therapy, mental health assessment, and crisis response) into one seamless service. We work to fit your family’s schedule and are available around the clock.
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an evidence-based program that supports youth with serious juvenile offences. The program works specifically with Franklin County Children Services (FCCS), Franklin County Juvenile Court, and the Franklin County ADAMH Board. The MST program is designed to address a youth’s mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Treatment interventions work to strengthen the relationship between the child and parent while decreasing delinquent and defiant behavior. MST provides intensive (2-4 hours/week) in-home and in-community services, including 24-hour crisis intervention, to youth and families struggling with the challenges of legal behaviors, substance abuse, oppositional behaviors, and severe family conflict.
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is an evidenced-based program effective with youth struggling with behavioral or emotional challenges. This program works specifically with Franklin County Children Services (FCCS), Franklin County Juvenile Court, and the Franklin County ADAMH Board. FFT is a short-term, intensive, high-quality intervention program with an average of 12-14 sessions over three to five months. FFT works primarily with 11- to 18-year-old youth and their families who have been referred due to behavioral or emotional challenges by the juvenile justice system, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. Services can be conducted in both clinic and home settings, and can also be provided within schools, child welfare facilities, probation and parole offices, aftercare systems, and mental health facilities.
Outpatient is a program designed for youth aged 5-18 who need support effectively managing a wide variety of mental health diagnoses. Program length is flexible, and duration is based on needs of the youth. All sessions require a caregiver to be present. In-office or virtual meetings with the youth and family based on a cadence determined by the clinician to support the youth’s needs. Staff are trained in therapeutic approaches, including EMDR, dialectal behavioral therapy, and substance abuse disorder recovery, to support youth who are in a spot where they need ongoing guidance, but are experiencing stability in their day-to-day mental health journey.
Intergrated Co-Occurring Treatment is a program designed to support youth aged 12-17.5 who are struggling with significant mental health and substance abuse issues. Average program length is between 3 and 5 months. Services are in-home, in-school, or in-community where youth live and function 2-4 times per week for 4 or more hours a week. Staff are trained to address the reciprocal interactions of co-occurring substance use and serious emotional disabilities directly. Therapists have small caseloads and provide 24/7 on-call support.

“Our IHBT clinician does a great job. It is not easy helping a teen “sort out the pieces” of their brokenness. I feel very strongly that this therapist is a good fit for my son and hope that she is able to help my son break through some of the issues that create barriers for him. “
