Referral Process & Orientation

Referral Process & Orientation

A referral can be made by judges, magistrates, GAL’s, attorneys, mediation, etc., or a self-referral can be made by one or both parties. Referrals can be made simply by including instructions to parties in a court order or by contacting Common Ground at (614) 594-9017.

The next step in setting up visitation/exchange services is to contact Common Ground and schedule an intake session.  An intake session must be completed before visitation/exchanges can begin. Each party will complete an intake session individually to determine the appropriateness, frequency, timing, payment and scheduling of visitation/exchanges. Your intake session will take approximately an hour and a half (1.5 hours). The cost of Intake is $30.00. Once both parties complete their intake sessions, Common Ground will develop a visitation/exchange schedule based on the programs availability in addition to attempting to accommodate each party’s request and the court order.

Please bring the following to your Orientation:

  • Current Custody Agreement or Court Order
  • Any Protection Orders (if applicable)
  • Driver’s license and insurance verification of all who will be transporting children
