Transitional Age Youth

Transitional Age Youth Programming

The Buckeye Ranch’s Transitional Age Youth programs are designed to help young adults who are ready to transition from care, group housing, and/or foster care, but are not ready to live completely on their own. We offer an array of services from access to our BRIDGES program, My Place, as well as general transitional age youth programming and coaching.

My Place

The young adults in the My Place program reside in 1 of 15 fully furnished, one-bedroom apartments. The program is located on the east side of Columbus in a community that allows easy access to public transportation.

The My Place property is a secured apartment building with staff present 24/7. The outside perimeter of the building is monitored by surveillance cameras to provide a safe and secure environment for residents. One of the unique components of My Place is the placement of young adult parents along with their children.

This housing transition program provides services to both males and females, ages 16-21 years old with a goal of providing them a stable place to learn advanced life skills and grow into the adults they were meant to be in their communities.

BRIDGES is a program for young adults ages 18-21 who meet program requirements and have aged out of county custody. BRIDGES will accept referrals through the Ohio Jobs and Family Services BRIDGES portal for young adults who are aging out of the child welfare system. BRIDGES provides case management and other resources to ensure success of these young adults as they transition into adulthood into their communities. Through the intake process, each young adult will have a personalized treatment plan tailored to meet their specific needs.
