Raising Hope, Restoring Healing | The Buckeye Ranch 2024 Impact Report

Author: The Buckeye Ranch

The Buckeye Ranch’s 2024 Impact Report is here! For more than 63 years, The Buckeye Ranch has been proudly serving children, youth, and families in Ohio. Our mission has always been to restore hope and provide healing through coordinated services that assist families urgently seeking help. Without access to this critical care, families and communities struggle to keep their children safe and supported. When families experience restored hope, they can begin their journey of healing and contribute to a thriving community.

The Buckeye Ranch’s Fiscal Year 2024 Impact

We are proud to share our fiscal year 2024 (FY24) Impact Report, which serves as a quantitative and qualitative presentation of The Buckeye Ranch’s demographic depth of reach and programmatic outcomes. This year, we’re thrilled to share our growth in youth and families The Buckeye Ranch was able to impact in our community:

In FY24, The Buckeye Reach supported a total of 7,119 youth in our community through 21,691 service, outreach and prevention encounters.

The Buckeye Ranch’s services impact youth in our community across all ages and races. Below, you can see a demographic breakdown of individuals served by The Buckeye Ranch in FY24:

It is critical that our work addresses the real-time needs of youth and families in our community. We work hard to make sure our services are enhancing their lives and helping them heal. That said, this report also emphasizes program outcomes and feedback from those we serve:

The Buckeye Ranch’s Guiding Principles

Fundamental to creating and maintaining a healing environment for the children and youth in services and treatment is adherence to four foundational principles that have been shown to be essential to the healing and growth of children, youth, and families. These principles are:

  • Taking a Strengths-Based approach
  • Having a Family-Centered perspective
  • Providing Trauma-Informed Care
  • Being Culturally Responsive in our understanding of children, youth, families, and team members

By sharing our FY24 Impact Report, we hope to reinforce our commitment to these Principles of Quality Care and amplify their efficacy at creating positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Understanding this missing piece of my trauma helped me to begin forgiving myself. I still work on this today with my clinician, whose continuous support has saved my life, time and time again.”

“After his time in the Multi-Systemic Therapy program, [my son] is less angry and can maintain stability in his emotions. Before, we would have discussions, and he would be okay for short while, but it wouldn’t be long before he would go right back to having challenging behaviors. Now he’s on track. He’s determined, motivated, and ready to go. He’s got the coping skills he needs to feel steady in sessions and out of sessions in the community and at home.”

-Tiffini, mother of MST and FFT recipient

“Most of our kids aren’t struggling academically. They’re struggling to managetheir trauma and outside life factors out of their control. They just need support. They need to feel understood. They need to learn they can trust adults. Because of the Buckeye Ranch, many of our kids now do.”
