It’s the most wonderful time of the year, made even brighter by the overwhelming support from our community that ensured our 2024 Hope for the Holidays program was a tremendous success! 

The Buckeye Ranch’s Hope for the Holidays program matches donors with youth receiving support from The Buckeye Ranch. When matched with a youth, each donor receives a wish list of their needs this holiday season and has the opportunity to help provide hope by making those wishes come true.

Changing the Lives of Youth in Our Community

This year, our team was elated to see the community’s response to support the youth and families we serve. We called on each of you to consider supporting the program in October and November as we received 1,189 wish lists from youth being supported by one or more of The Buckeye Ranch’s programs across 475 households in our community.  

We are so humbled to share that thanks to the support of the nearly 350 incredibly generous donors, we were able to fulfill every wish list submitted to us by youth receiving support from The Buckeye Ranch. 

That’s a lot of hope and healing for the children, youth, and families in our community. But your support did not stop here. 

 

Raising More Hope, Together 

We were blown away by our community’s willingness to join us on-site at our headquarters to make this program possible. 

Each year, we host two donor drop off days to collect all donations at our Michael and Paige Crane Center for Youth and Families Headquarters in Whitehall.  

Preparing our headquarters with sorting zones, stewarding and supporting donors with unloading their vehicles at drop off, checking in items to ensure wish lists are fulfilled, and sorting and distributing items to clinicians to provide items to families from nearly 1,200 wish lists is a tremendous undertaking. It simply would not have been possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers.  

We are so grateful to each of our individual volunteers, as well as our volunteer groups from Northwestern Mutual and Cristo Rey Columbus High School. Thank you for making this program possible this year.  

Making the Season Extra Warm and Bright 

While we have the honor of working with individual donors to fulfill wish lists and volunteers to operate the Hope for the Holidays program each year, we also have the privilege of working with community members who want to make the season extra warm and bright.  

The Buckeye Ranch works to provide household items based on need for families throughout the year when possible. These items include supplies like personal hygiene items, bedding, cleaning supplies, winter outerwear, and other essentials that our families need each day.  

This year, we had several Hope for the Holidays donors provide additional donations to support this need throughout the year for youth and families served by The Buckeye Ranch.

We’re eternally grateful to these donors who hosted drives and provided monetary donations to support the youth and families we serve year-round.

A huge thank you to our partners at businesses like Orange Theory (Hilliard Studio), State Auto Insurance, Liberty Mutual Insurance, NJM Insurance, and Overmyer Hall Associates that help supply these items to families we serve. 

We absolutely could not do this critical work without the generosity of our community. We cherish sharing space with neighbors who share our belief that there is hope within every family and show up to ensure that every family has the support they so deeply deserve. Thank you to all those who helped make the season bright for the youth and families we serve!
